Gbagyi Resettlement Estate, Wasa is a rural community in Abuja, Nigeria, inhabited mostly by farmers and traders.
When Rhapsody of Realities Bible sponsors from Christ Embassy Abuja moved into this locality with the mandate of reaching out to its residents with the gospel through the free distribution of Rhapsody of Realities Devotional Study Bibles, they were faced with great hostility, because many of the Gbagyi residents were Muslims.
Commenting on the resistance encountered by missionaries, a member of the distribution team said, “When we arrived, we were met by a crowd of people who were armed and chanting, 'No Church! No church!’ While this was going on, our team members held hands and began speaking in tongues, and the Spirit of God prevailed. Within the next 20 minutes, the Chief of the Community came out with some of his men; they halted the uproar and asked us to go ahead with 'our good news’. This was the beginning of many miracles.”
As the Word of God was shared, more miracles began to take place. A notable miracle was that of a man whose sight was restored after being blind for several years. He was agog with joy, praising and dancing. God had surely visited him. Another miracle was that of a lady who had reached out to the Church and requested that they reach out to her community with the Word of God. She was healed of fibroids and shared her testimony with elation.
When an altar call was made, more than 60 people came forward to give their hearts to Jesus Christ. The new converts and several other inhabitants of Gbagyi who received copies of the Rhapsody of Realities Devotional Study Bible that day were full of thanks to our Bible sponsors for giving them the gift of God without measure - His Word.
