Palesa’s Diary is aimed at teens, yet it also caters to both their parents and everyone that has experienced life as a teenager. Palesa’s Diary, a TV series launched in March 2014 and set in contemporary South Africa, is different from other TV programs aimed at the same audience, because it propagates the message of the man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD. There are lots of challenges that teenagers face on a daily basis; Palesa’s Diary seeks to expose and address all those issues so that teens and their parents can tackle them with God’s Word.
Viewers who are neither teenagers nor parents of teenagers are educated so they can help their loved ones, neighbours or even strangers who may need the insight provided in the series. Palesa’s Diary addresses teenage problems overtly; the series is totally relatable, interactive, but more importantly practicable. The series brings God’s wisdom to bear on the seemingly insurmountable obstacles facing young people in much the same way Pastor Chris makes spiritual verities easily understandable.
Issues like bullying, teenage suicide, teen sex, alcoholism, peer pressure, relationships, various addictions to substances, technology or social media abuse are tackled throughout the series, and always, Palesa and her friends draw heavily from TeeVo articles and other teachings by Pastor Chris to show their peers the way to a life of consistent victory and success!
