As we revel in the glory of the festive season, partners from Christ Embassy Southern Africa Zone 5 took time out on Monday, December 18th, to remember the under-privileged children in Harare's Hatcliffe Extension suburb as part of the 'Send Portions Campaign', an initiative of the man of God, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome.
Acting on the word of God which enjoins believers to eat, drink and be merry but not neglect those for whom nothing has been prepared, the partners gathered over 500 children at the community's Tichakunda Day Care Centre, giving out free meals and drinks to the elated children.
Music, games and celebrations filled the air; for once, smiles appeared on the children's faces and heartfelt joy overwhelmed the underprivileged children. If not for the partners, those children would not have experienced the festivity that seems so apparent to some.
The partners also gave away free copies of the Kiddies' Rhapsody of Realities before leading the children to salvation. It certainly was a day well spent as lives were touched beyond imagination. Showers of gratitude to the man of God, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome, flowed profusely from the beneficiaries, with some expressing their hope and desire for the perpetuation of such deeds.
